Daniel Guth is a passionate doctor and is confronted with difficult decisions every day. The fate of little Tessa is particularly close to his heart. The young patient is diagnosed with an insidious arterial disease. She has to have an operation. Shortly before the procedure, Tessa loses her nerve and escapes after her parents argue. Daniel is forced to work with his closest competitor if he wants to save the child's life and find Tessa in time.

Film traces the career of the actor who embodied classic American values like no other - in his film and television roles as well as in his private life. In a career spanning more than 50 years, he became an icon of the western. The documentary follows Wayne from his first steps in the film business, when he was still honing his image as an upright hero, through his great successes to the end of his career, when even the US Congress bowed to his lifetime achievement and awarded him the Congressional Gold Medal. His colleague Maureen O'Hara, who stood in front of the camera with him in Rio Grande (1950), said that the medal should bear the following engraving to do justice to Duke: "John Wayne - American".

A deadly legend.

Archaeologist Katja Bennecke is in charge of an excavation site at the foot of a Mayan pyramid on the Mexican headland of Yucatán. By chance, she discovers the mask of Gonzalo Guerrero, a Spanish warrior described in legends who rose to become supreme general under the Majas: a sensational find! Her colleague Gerd, of all people, tries to steal the valuable piece. But she catches the thief, who is immediately arrested and dies shortly afterwards under mysterious circumstances in a Mexican prison. Katja's daughter Maren arrives unexpectedly - and is kidnapped in the street. They want to release Maren in exchange for the mask. But the precious find does not belong to Katja. To save her daughter, she has to become a thief herself...
